Simple Cheesy Mustard Sauce (like a Tartar)

I was very pleasantly surprised with how this turned out.  I almost wanted the cod just so that I could use the sauce.

Classic Shortbread

This was a recipe from "Learn How to Cook".  Initially I thought of this as a stand-alone and had no plans to include this on the Chowday blog, as I hadn't gotten through the book I'm currently on.




Furthermore when I first took it out it seemed really sweet.  But the trick with shortbread (apparently) is giving it a chance to really cool down and harden.  The acute sweetness lessened the longer it was kept out.  I should've taken more pictures during the preparing stages.  Will do this the next time around.

Oatmeal - Apples and Blackberries (Revisited)

I made a critical error the last time I attempted this oatmeal.  I didn't mash the blackberries into the oatmeal while it was still cooking in the pot.  








This time I got it right.  Adding the fried apple slices with the honey and toasted oats right at the end.
